Here We Go

"Here we go." I hear that in the voice of the rogue Valeera from the game Hearthstone, whose character comes for the World of Warcraft. I love to game. In one point of my life it consumed me. Now I am a more casual gamer. Most of my friends don't know that about me though. I am a Christian who spends most of my time in a very conservative church setting. I don't think they are all opposed to gaming so much as they just don't find it compelling. But I digress.

"Here we go." Where are we going you may ask? My newest adventure is writing. I am working on my first novel. I hope to have it completed within 2 years. As I work on it I want to attempt to blog again. To keep me writing when my book isn't flowing and because I have so much to say on so many topics.

Among the topics I might cover will be:

Theology - My faith in Jesus is the most important aspect of my life and I love studying about Him and sharing what I find. I love providing evidence for His existence and helping to break down arguments against Him.

Our Culture - While many items in this topic may seem political I want to come at it from an issue of what is good, helpful, and right for the whole. I tire of the labels of party and left and right, liberal and conservative. I am on the side of truth and that is where I will stand.

Health - I am in a constant struggle with my weight but it's not just about how I look or what the scale says. It's about how I feel and my over all health. With that said I really despise fad diets or people who make healthy habits and eating into a legalistic idolatry.

Education - While I am a homeschooling mom I realize that is not the choice every parent can or will make. I want people to have the liberty to make those choices and I want whatever our taxes are spent on to be done well.

Writing - While I am working on my book I am also seeking advice and ideas on how to do it better. I will share things that I find helpful.

There will be many other topics too. I am sure Down syndrome or special needs will come up. Inclusion is huge on my list. Not just in schools but in the workforce. Games, family, vacation, travel, whatever is on my mind.

For now I just want to get started. So in the words of Valeera..."Here we go."
